Knowing your worth is sexy | Singapore boudoir photography studio

``I'm nervous". She declared.

I smiled and tried to comfort her that she would warm up within ten minutes of her empowering session.

Upon settling in the chair for her hair and make-up session, we discussed her `why' for booking a session. Ms S describes the destructive relationship she had with her abusive ex-partner. This suffocating feeling of being stuck in a dysfunctional relationship made her question her worth and lowered her self-esteem.

``One of the lowest points in my life was when I got depressed from being in a toxic relationship. When I finally walked away after three years, I decided that it was time to love myself back to life. So that’s exactly what I’m learning to do every day, loving myself by taking care of me, nourishing my soul and embracing all that makes me, me. I’ve learned that you cannot expect someone else to love you if you don’t first love yourself. :)" ~ Ms S

After making that brave decision to leave her toxic relationship, she felt liberated, like the world's weight had fallen off her shoulders. Hence her determination to book a session for herself to celebrate her power and reclaim her confidence.

Here are her thoughts about her memorable boudoir session:

What is boudoir photography to you?

To me, it’s about empowering myself and reminding myself that I am strong, sexy and beautiful. :)

What motivated you to go ahead with the photoshoot?

I really wanted to do this to boost my confidence and remind myself that I’m sexy and beautiful. My last relationship damaged my self-esteem and I wanted to build it back again and I’m so glad I booked the shoot! I only told my mum and she was pretty supportive. I didn’t tell anyone else cause I wanted to surprise my friends 😂

What was your biggest fear before working with me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?

I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to do the shoot cause I thought I wouldn’t be good enough to pose. But Mary made me feel super comfortable and safe and her guidance in teaching me how to pose really helped me and I feel like I soon found my confidence and was able to pull off the poses :)

What was your favourite part of the entire photographic experience, and why?

Mary’s jokes! Hahaha! Honestly I enjoyed the overall process and felt like a supermodel throughout :)

In three words, how would you describe your feelings when you saw the photos?

In complete awe! Hahhaha

(She was teary and choking lots from the overwhelming feeling of joy;-) )

What would you say if you were to recommend us to your best friend?

I would say that she should totally do this shoot with Mary, because the whole experience will be amazing and she will be left feeling super confident and empowered! :)

How do you define sexy?

Sexy is confidence and knowing your worth, and never settling for less.
